Samson was so blinded by Delilah's seductive nature in the end it caused him to lose his sight literally when the Philistines:
Judges 16v 21"put out his eyes,".
It is easy to lose sight-(no pun intended) of where our strength lies. Samson thought his was in his locks of hair. Some of us see strength as physical beauty, powerful positions, control, money, possessions etc. and can/have all be seduced by these things, and Lord knows I have!
I am so thankful that I did not have to endure what Samson did to realize that the only true strength comes from God!
Isaiah 40:28-31
New International Version (NIV)
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Jeremiah 16:19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
It gives me tremendous strength to know God is with me always and His loves endures forever, no matter what I am facing!
Our God is an awesome God, He reigns from heaven above, with wisdom power and love our God is an awesome God! (One of my favorite songs!)
Psalms 68:35 You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!
Praying for God's strength for each if you today!
